Why Slow Cooker?
Every day, my wife and I ponder over what to feed our 3 kids come dinnertime. Ever since she started working again, we have had to think of how to provide a good, nutritious meal to our kids while still being able to balance our work responsibilities.

As I thought about it more and more, I decided to use my trusty slow cooker for a great-tasting solution! Not only are slow cookers wonderful at cooking on a budget and for long periods of time, they make for easy food preparation and easy clean up after.

This solution totally fits into our busy schedules. Before I leave to my restaurant and she goes to work, we decide on the day’s meal and put our trusty slow cooker to use. By the time she comes home for dinner with the kids in tow, they have a great meal to look forward to. Not to mention, she can keep the leftovers warm so I can share in the fun when I come home too!

Affordable Convection Toaster Oven

Are you looking for an affordable toaster oven with good qualities? Well, you are just in luck because today, I will be doing a review on the 31230 Set & Forget toaster oven by Hamilton Beach! I recommend you to read the Hamilton Beach toaster oven reviews in this website.

This toaster oven was voted as the most affordable toaster oven with good functions, qualities and what not. I decided to try if it was really as good as they say and after a few months of testing it out, I was happy that this toaster oven turned out great. I was surprised that this toaster oven turned out better than my old one as well! Needless to say, I like this toaster oven a lot. It simply is the best toaster oven there is!

The 31230 Set & Forget toaster oven is a convection oven. The first good thing about it is that it has a convection function and for the price of it, it is really worth it. It’s very rare to see small ovens with steam function and a built in convection function. This toaster oven is user friendly and the controls are easy to work with. It took my less than 5 minutes to figure out what the controls are for this oven.

Other than that, it includes a meat probe that allows you to ensure it bakes on a safe temperature, a broil rack, baking pan and a slide out crumb tray. The cool thing about this toaster oven is that it has an auto shift function whereby it switches to ‘keep warm’ after it is done cooking or the temperature has been reached.

The size of this toaster oven is not that big but it is big enough to fit a whole chicken that weighs about 7 pound inside it. For a rough estimation, six slices of bread can be put in, 12 inch pizzas and anything that is in that size range.

Since I mentioned earlier that this toaster oven is easy to use, it is also easy to clean after it. It has a removable crumb tray which makes life much easier when it comes to cleaning the gunk and crumb in the oven. The other thing that makes it easy is that the interior of the toaster oven is coated with a non-stick coating material so you can just wipe away all the dirt and it will be good as new.

Every good product must have bad side towards it and lucky for us, it doesn’t have many flaws. The thing that I am really disappointed about is that it does not have a rotisserie included as an attachment. Also, you are not able to change the temperature and functions while the toaster oven is baking if you set it on pre-set mode earlier. So, it is best to manually cook your food than adjusting it with a pre-set function.

Cuisinart is a trusted brand in the kitchen for many appliances from food processors to cookware, but let us look at their series of slow cookers. Cuisinart did not make a lot of slow cookers, only a few models covering the popular sizes for families. But actually the best Cuisinart slow cooker that I like is the small one at 3.5-quart.

Below are the Cuisinart slow cookers that are available on Amazon to this date. I reviewed a couple of them but I don’t have the full Cuisinart slow cooker reviews for PSC-400 and PSC-650. Nevertheless, you can click on the link to check out the user reviews on Amazon.

Cuisinart PSC-350 – Best Small Slow Cooker

I recommend getting this model if you are cooking for 2 – 3 persons. This Cuisinart slow cooker is the best small slow cooker I have seen on the market till now. Despite its small 3.5-quart size, this ceramic-pot slow cooker is programmable, easy to clean and safe to use. I love the oval design which makes it good for cooking long items and easy to fit in anywhere in the kitchen. This is perfect for singles and couples!

Cuisinart CSC-400

This small and basic slow cooker is of good quality, great for small family units. However it is not programmable, so if you are looking for a 4-quart slow cooker with programmable functions check out the next model.

Cuisinart PSC-400

This 4-quart Cuisinart slow cooker is made in the similar square shape brushed stainless steel base with round ceramic pot design as the CSC-400. This slow cooker with dishwasher safe pot and glass lid is certainly a useful appliance for the modern and busy family that has little time to spend cooking and even less for cleaning up.

Cuisinart PSC-650

If you are looking for a bigger version of Cuisinart slow cooker, the PSC-650 is the 6.5-quart sister of the PSC-400. Everything cooks like a charm giving you no mess to clear up and delicious food every time. For the size of this slow cooker, the price is slightly high but the quality and performance gives it value.
